AUTOMATED EXTERNAL Defibrillator GRANT INFORMATION
The Lynchburg Life Saving Crew has a rich history of providing Emergency Medical and Rescue services to the Citizens of Lynchburg. In keeping with our long-term mission, the LLSC is also committed to providing support for programs and individuals who exemplify this same commitment and volunteer spirit in providing emergency medical care to our citizens.
Scholarship Assistance Program
The LLSC will take applications for scholarships once a year. The applications can be submitted at any time, but must be submitted no later than March 1st for consideration and notification of award recipients on March 26th (the anniversary of our founding in 1934).
Named awards vary but will typically be in amounts ranging from $500 - $3,000. The Board reserves the right to provide as many awards as they wish each year and in amounts dictated by the LLSC Board rules.
Named awards are presented each year to individuals who are enrolled in, or planning to enroll in an accredited educational program in any medical professional program. These include, but are not limited to, Physicians Assistance Programs, EMT or EMT Advanced Classes, Paramedic Programs, Nursing Programs (including CNA).
Preference is given to those individuals who volunteer at least 10 hours per week in a pre-hospital patient care or hospital environment as a Tech, EMT, Paramedic, Nurse or other volunteer provider. Preference is also given to those applicants who have not received an award from the LLSC within the previous year.
Special awards can also be granted to programs which seek to provide new and innovative training models aimed at providing emergency or first responder care to the general public. These special awards may be used to fund Automated External Defibrillator (AED’s) units that are for use in public locations.
We are sorry but the program has been suspended until further notice.
